Woman calls 911 three times about Chicken McNuggets

"This is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency." That was the rationale proffered by one Latreasa L. Goodman, 27, of Fort Pierce, Florida. Last week Goodman went into a McDonald's restaurant and ordered a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets. She paid the money but was then told that the location was out of McNuggets. The staff offered her a McDouble but she didn't want that.

So Goodman called 911 and reported the "emergency". And not once, but three times. She's now due in court on a charge of misusing the 911 service.

If Goodman caused this much trouble over McNuggets, then thank Heaven she didn't go nuts after being told the McRib had gone away again.

Nobody cares.

She should have gone to Chick-Fil-A. There would be no shortage, the sauces are better and the nuggets are manufactured from actual chicken.

Actually, McDonald's changed their McNuggets to actual white meat chicken a couple of years ago, I believe.

Hey Chris - didn't you tell me once that they actually get their chicken meat from some place in Reidsville?

I just read this article and was a little perplexed. The article is misleading. She asked for a refund from the cashier and was refused. So she paid for something and didn't get it. Isn't that theft? I'm not sure I would have called 911, but I can tell you, I would have taken it out of someone's rear end! And shame on McDonalds--all sales final my butt! What happened to customer service?

AfterShock: Yup! Equity Meats on Highway 87 (not far from the K-Mart) is where many/possibly most of the Chicken McNuggets come from. It's right next to the train tracks. All kinds of hideous imagery comes to mind...

Tony: I agree. She paid the money, the management should have refunded her if they had made the mistake and run out before the transaction was made. But still, this lady's reaction is a bit much. If she had called 911 once I might could let it slide, but three times?

I've been to Fort Pierce many times (have lots of family there) and it's a substantially busier area than Reidsville. Guess that's one reason why I don't feel led to forgive this all that much. 911 is a precious resource and it should be used with utmost care, for sake of those who really do need it.
