New WATCHMEN video journal stares into abyss of Rorschach's mask

Exactly one month from today we'll finally get to see the Watchmen movie. And I think it's safe to say: the biggest anticipation of the past twenty years has been for how well Rorschach will translate to the big screen. Empire has the exclusive premiere of this latest video journal, which focuses on Rorschach's background and that very neat mask that he wears.

And if you've read the book, perhaps it will interest you to know that this clip has a fleeting glimpse of our favorite antihero in a certain pose wielding a meat cleaver...

You want something Watchmen to entertain til the movie comes out? Look for Sam Hamm's original script. It makes Schumacher's Batman & Robin look like The Dark Knight!

I read Hamm's script a few years ago. Would you believe that Alan Moore said back then that he thought Hamm's treatment would be a *good* thing?! That Alan Moore, is clearly not with us today.

For those who have never read it, Sam Hamm's script read more like the movie Mystery Men that came along ten years later. The ending is COMPLETELY altered from the book and the opening scene is, well, "nigh groan-worthy". It treated the source material as if it were any ordinary commercially viable comic book... and that's something that Watchmen is not at all.

I already know about "that thing" which is not in the movie (yeah the "squid") but after seeing the stuff they've been releasing so far, and reading the interviews, I trust Zack Snyder to pull off the impossible, and do right by this.
