Okay, tonight's LOST...

...was one of the best hours of television I've seen in a heap many moon.

I'm still wigged-out by that weird room that Alex's boyfriend was strapped down in: it was like the Lodovico Treatment from A Clockwork Orange on crack cocaine. Who is "Jacob"? On the screen it flashed something like "God loves you just as he loves Jacob": that's the second episode in a row that "Jacob" has been mentioned.

Just had a thought: was this "the room" that Mrs. Klugh threatened Walt with in the episode "Three Minutes"?

I'm gonna watch this one again tomorrow sometime. In the meantime, g'nite!

I haven't watched a single episode of LOST, and therefore have no real idea what I am talking about here. All I have to go on is what I hear the kids at work talk about.a

Maybe the reference is to Jacob's ladder to Heaven? Maybe they really are dead, and literally got lost on their way to their respective afterlives? just a thought...

Later!

One of the first theories that came up was that everyone died in the crash and that the island is really something like Purgatory, on the border between Heaven and Hell. The producers eventually said that's not what's happening, and the theory went straight out the window in the final moments of the season 2 finale when for the first time since the show started, other than the flashbacks, we saw something take place in the outside world.

Philip, I have a strong suspicion that you would LOVE Lost. This is the kind of show that you would probably really get into. If you ever want to borrow my season DVD sets to catch up just let me know :-)
