Keeping The Tryst has been released!!

Eleven years of on and off work.  A lot of things happened in that time.  Quite a few events and situations that kept changing the shape of the project.  All of that effort and at times sacrifice... and it culminates in tonight.

Keeping the Tryst
hardcover edition just popped up on Amazon a short while ago.

Here's the hardcover version's page.  You can order that now.  The Kindle ebook version (Amazon page here) is still showing pre-orders but I imagine that status is going to change soon.

I don't know what else to say right now.  Just so very thrilled to see my book on sale, and maybe it will enlighten and edify and even entertain its readers.  That's one of the goals I had all along in writing it.

Okay, I didn't sleep at all last night, and I've got some work to do in the morning, so I'm going to turn in for the evening.  But I go to bed tonight a published book author... and that's a pretty neat feeling :-)

Hope y'all enjoy it.

Hi Chris. I just finished chapter 5. Reading about losing your friend in the accident was very heart-breaking. I can't begin to imagine the grief that you had. So far I'm really liking your book. The chapter about the Eighties must have been fun to write!

Thanks for the purchases everyone :-)

Solomon Grundy: that was indeed a very fun chapter to work on! I'd wondered for awhile though if it should have been cut (like a lot of other material). But in the end I decided to include it. It sets the tone of so much that follows. And it's a bit of a cultural history lesson too. I got to play a lot of good cards with that chapter. Thanks for the kind words :-D

Chris, I finished reading it this morning. You have had an amazing life. It was very brave of you to share the things that have happened to you. For its length it read very fast, it didn't seem like it took long at all. Very entertaining too! Some of what you shared had me guffawing hard! I hope this becomes a bestseller because it deserves that. Congratulations again!

Grundy: oh wow you read that FAST. A few people have commented on the readability, the choice of paper and font size. I'm very delighted that you enjoyed it :-D

Everybody is getting copies but me! I'm getting reports of people receiving their copies 2 or 3 days after ordering them. Meanwhile I ordered a few author copies (which do not count toward the retail sales figures) and that was on October 1st. I'm STILL waiting to get notified that they've been printed and on their way to delivery. But I'm still VERY delighted that people are getting their copies and sooner than I'd expected.

If anyone's interested, the sales have been pretty good, considering that I'm a relative unknown (apart from this blog, the misadventures like the school board run and Forcery etc., the op-ed pieces I've written). I told everyone that if just one or two, ten would be better, people bought and read and enjoyed the book, that I would be happy. Within the past few days since publication the sales have smashed through that target. Maybe it will sell even more. I'm also thinking of "upgrading" the ebook to include some photos, making it a true visual experience.

It has been a good seven days. I am very thankful for that :-)
